We spent the last week on the Frio River at Riverbend on the Frio.
Our site was right by the river, we had very little to zero cell service, no TV service (and we do not have a mobile satellite TV service), only a few radio stations would come through in the travel trailer but were good on our emergency radio, lots of shade from trees and it was breezy most of the week. Star gazing wasn’t very good because of the trees but we had a few open spaces that worked out just fine.
We made good food and had fun playing games. We even had some good rain showers that came throughout the week, one was very early morning with booming thunder! It was a very pleasant week.
We had family at Garner State Park and got to spend time with them there and they also spent time at our place too.
The Frio did not disappoint! It was cold, had wildlife in and around it and made for some interesting people watching at times.
On our way to and from the Frio every year our halfway point is Pleasanton/Jourdanton for gas and usually a stop at the local Whataburger. With the travel trailer the past few years we have to stop and go in. With the shut down this year though it was drive-thru or nothing because these people I travel with are Whataburger fiends! So what does Mama do? She orders online and walks up through the drive-thru for her family and takes all the stares from the vehicles because that’s how she rolls.
All in all we had a great Frio River vacation.
